Meet Marshall

S. Marshall Wilson is a Dad to nine, a Husband to a valiant Woman, a retired combat veteran US Army Infantry Officer, a former Christian missionary in the Peruvian Amazon, and a teacher. He served as a Delegate from south Berkeley County for two terms (2016-2020) and stood for election as Governor of West Virginia in 2020. He earned an Executive Master of Arts in National Security Affairs from the Institute of World Politics in Washington, DC and teaches a Master's level course in Military Operations on "Command Leadership" and also a Bachelor's level course on US Government to high school seniors.

He was born in the Summer of ’69 to USMC Lance Corporal Steve Wilson and Mrs. Dianne (Melton) Wilson in Beaufort, SC, near Parris Island Naval Air Station where Steve was stationed. The family resided mainly in Louisiana but spent a few years in Mississippi, and North Carolina for Steve's education. Upon graduation from high school, Marshall enlisted into the Louisiana Army National Guard and enrolled at Louisiana State University (LSU) and the Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC). Upon graduation from LSU, he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant of Infantry in the Regular Army and assigned to the First Infantry Division at Fort Riley, Kansas. After completing his four-year commitment, he received an honorable discharge and began preparations to serve as a church planter and Christian theology instructor in the Peruvian Amazon. After they had established themselves in Peru and received custody of twins, his wife stated her intent to pursue a divorce. Marshall ended his service in Peru and returned me to the States but was prohibited by the Peruvian Government from taking the one-year-old twins from Peru.

Shortly after redeployment from Iraq, Marshall married the formidable Julie Barr and moved to West Virginia where she had made her home. After settling in, Julie and Marshall engaged in grassroots politics which led to his first run for political office in 2016. With almost no resources besides a compelling message, the help of some good friends, and his wife’s encouragement, he was elected to serve as Delegate for District 60 in South Berkeley County and re-elected in 2018. In 2020, rather than seeking re-election, he ran, instead, for Governor of West Virginia.

Marshall is a staunch advocate for the establishment of Constitutional governance in West Virginia to secure the Natural Rights of each individual citizen. He also studies, both formally and informally, philosophy, history, and current government operations to increase and improve his capabilities to strengthen the resolve and capabilities of citizens he serves.

Marshall's philosophy of government is summed up by the following quote from the Declaration of Independence, and all of his political actions are founded upon these principles:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. The only valid reason for government to exist is to secure the Natural Rights of each individual citizen. Any government that fails in this singular mission is invalid and must be changed. Any government that takes any action for any purpose other than to secure the Natural Rights of individual citizens is necessarily oppressive and certainly must be changed.

Marshall is again standing for election as Delegate in south Berkeley County (newly created District 91) in 2022 and also for Governor of West Virginia in 2024. 

His intent is to reform the Executive Branch of West Virginia State Government to function according to its constitutional mandate and, so secure your Natural Rights and "the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity (descendants)." (US Constitution, Preamble)

Folks, this is Granny. We want Marshall Wilson as the next governor of our wonderful state of West Virginia. This is a wonderful man. He understands the problems that we have as parents. He understands families' needs. He is a wonderful man and I just pray that we'll all get out there and vote for Mr. Marshall Wilson: the Governor of West Virginia!

I cannot possibly hold any person in higher regard than I do this fella, S. Marshall Wilson. He can quote the Bible and the Constitution at any moment and will defend both with everything he's got. He actually shows up for We The People. Just say the word freedom and he's there. He listened to Mom's story with remorse and compassion by acknowledging her as a victim of the corrupt system instead of brushing her aside as collateral damage. He will debate any topic and explain fully and exactly where his position comes from.
If you want real change in WV, vote S. Marshall Wilson for Governor. He's a hard-working, God-fearing, Constitution-following, freedom-loving Veteran and NOT a politician. Politicians come and go making campaign promises they simply can't and won't keep once they get into office and become part of the system that it is within. “Conforming to the power of the party” I call it. When that special someone who fervently tries with their genuinely whole heart, sacrifices everything to actually serve the people whom they are sworn to serve makes their way into their elected office, they hit that “go along to get along” gang in a major way.
I helped him from his first run as Delegate and also when he ran for Governor. And I'll continually do that even more now after seeing what our current Governor has done to us and to the People of our beautiful State never being held accountable by OUR elected officials who should have! Never have we seen such tyranny and hypocrisy than what we've suffered through these past 2 years! My eyes are wide open to who I've voted for in the past and who I will not make the same mistakes going forward!!!!!
S. Marshall Wilson is the absolute best candidate we could ever elect to the seat of Governor! He'll say what he means and do what he says he'll do! When he says he'll lay down his life for his people he actually means it, Y'all.
